Indicator Based Service
Some manufacturers require servicing based on an indicator which appears on the dash when service is due. The indicator will alert the service shop to which services need to be performed. On Honda vehicles, this is called a Maintenance Minder system. These indicators are similar to a mileage based system however the vehicle computes the service interval using multiple variables such as mileage, engine run time, engine RPM, speed, etc.

When To Replace Timing Belt or Chain?
At some point during your vehicle's life, you will have to change the timing belt. The majority of vehicles require that the timing belt needs to be replaced at 60,000, 90,000 or 105,000 miles. Sometimes, there are cars that have timing chains instead of a timing belt. These timing chains can still stretch or break and could make noise.
